Greetings! It’s Jillian here with some of our top paint color picks. These choices are tried and true and some of our go-to colors when choosing paints. Since getting paint colors right can be tricky, I always recommend trying a paint sample out on your wall in a few places to see what it looks like in your room. That being said, here are a few paints that have worked well time and time again for my own home as well as our decor coaching clients’ rooms too.

Revere Pewter
This Benjamin Moore color is an oldie but goodie in the greige color category. It works well in my family room because this space gets lots of natural light. This color can be a little dark and a little more tan than gray, but if you have a bright space or want a little more depth, Revere Pewter could be the neutral shade for you!
Gray Owl
This beautiful chameleon shade of gray is my new favorite after my One Room Challenge office redo. This paint color totally transformed the room (click here to see more on that). Gray Owl by Benjamin Moore is a pretty, slightly blue-green gray that is sure to brighten up any space. The photos below are not the best as it is a little shadowy and this room is not easy to photograph, but trust me, this color is gorgeous.
White Dove
My kitchen cabinets and most of the trim in my house is White Dove. This is the perfect white as the touch of gray keeps it from being too sterile or bright. It is my go-to for trim and moldings, and would look equally great as a white wall color choice.
Stonington Gray
This color has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but I have yet to use it in my home. However, in our recent kitchen decor coaching project, this was our client’s top choice and it came out perfect! This is a great gray as it reads a true gray on the walls with no overpowering undertones. Stonington Gray by Benjamin Moore is a slam dunk every time and I highly recommend it!
Stratton Blue
Enough with the neutrals! Looking for a pop of beautiful saturated color? Look no further than Stratton Blue by Benjamin Moore! This is a bright and bold blue-green shade that can work on walls (as pictured in this dining room decor coaching project), exterior doors, and even my kitchen island as shown below.

Hello, my kitchen cabinets and kitchen walls are white dove (in different sheens). What white subway tile won’t make the cabinets look to yellow? The subway tile in the above pictures look great. Where are they from?

Thanks for your comment! The subway tile I used was a very faint blue gray color. I found them at Best Tile several years ago. Good luck!
