Hello there! Jillian here, and I would like to welcome you to my home! We bought this house eight years ago and have been very busy making it our own. So far we have done three major renovations, it is a constant work in progress! Improving our home is something I really love doing and I’m excited to share it with you. So let’s go on a photo tour of my home! Come on into my brick nest!
Kitchen
I love my bright, modern, classic, white kitchen, and I hope you do too.
Below is the kitchen dining space. I adore this area for several reasons. It gets tons of bright natural light thanks to some skylights. The charming exposed brick sections of the wall (that used to be the exterior of the house before the addition was built), give the space character and a bit of an industrial feel. And this lighting fixture is one of my favorites for sure!
Family Room
Our family room is a very open, light-filled room that flows right off the kitchen. We spend the majority of our time in this area, so I tried to make it comfortable and family friendly, but still stylish.
Formal Dining Room
My dining room has changed a lot over the years with paint color, new furniture, and an updated chandelier. The painted floor really makes a statement! If you want to learn more about our painted floors, peruse this post at your leisure.
Office
Did you see The Brick Nests HQ office makeover? Check that post out here and below is just one of the many photos of that space.
Guess what–I reworked that room and it currently looks like this!
Formal Living Room
The living room has also evloved over the years with most of the furniture being reupholstered. The walls are a beautiful grasscloth that I added along with the new rug and coffee table to complete the space.
Now shall we head upstairs? All of the bedrooms have been renovated. The kids’ rooms have transitioned from cribs to big beds, along with many other changes (paint colors and furniture swaps)!
Master Bedroom
Master Bathroom
I absolutely love my master bathroom, as it feels like escaping to a spa every time I shower!
Kids’ Bedrooms
Did you see my daughter’s bedroom redo? See a gazillion photos here and below is my favorite photo of her beautiful blush big girl room.
I recently moved the beds around in all the rooms. Here is how my daughter’s room currently looks!
Guest Bedroom
Let’s hop over to the guest bedroom from our first One Room Challenge makeover. I like to call it my cozy tree fort guest nest!
I hoped you enjoyed the tour of my brick nest! This home tour has been updated Fall 2019 to reflect the most recent changes to my home. Special thanks to Lisa for the photos and the Springfield Preservation Trust for the neighborhood walking home tour feature (and the impetus to get the house ready)!
