Jillian’s Outfit
A few weeks back I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across an ad for Draper James that showed some adorable holiday dresses. I clicked over and, well, the rest is history! First of all, this is Reese Witherspoon’s company, and I have been told many times that I look a lot like her. Besides being my famous doppelganger, she is also a star whose style I admire. I just fell in love with all the clothing–it’s feminine and classic, but adds a little flair by paying homage to her southern roots. I also love that the company has as a strong belief in charitable giving and supports Girls Inc. All orders are free shipping and returns, so I went for it and bought a dress knowing I could easily send it back if it didn’t work. The order arrived quickly and with pristine blue packaging, and there was absolutely no need to return it, because I was very happy with the dress fit and quality.
I obviously will be a return customer and I recommend you check it out too! Here is a link to a blog post with Reese wearing the same dress I am wearing. Let’s hope this does’t get featured in “who wore it best” (I’m going to guess it wouldn’t be me with my preschool daughter eating lunch just out of the frame of this picture during this photo shoot!). I paired this dress with these earrings and nude booties. As the plaid is a bold red and navy print, I liked the simplicity of the nude color booties with it. Here is a pair of similar-but-even-cuter ones (oh man, do I want these booties and about fifty other things from Draper James, but I will show some restraint this holiday season)! If red plaid is not your thing, this navy number is also amazing, and this LBD couldn’t be any more chic!
Lisa’s Outfit
Hey there! I have several holiday events this year with different groups of people and varying levels of formality, so I need a holiday outfit that will be festive and appropriate for all those occasions. Therefore, I opted for pants and a blouse, so the look is dressy but not super formal. While I do love wearing traditional holiday colors at a holiday party, this year I decided to rock the jewel tones. I think rich jewel tones, especially with sheen or sparkle, can be just as festive. I hit up Anthropologie because their clothes always have interesting details, and a feminine, slightly boho feel that appeals to me. Under the bright store lights, this glimmering, sheer blouse caught my eye like a beautiful shining beacon across the room. The deep blue color is stunning and the glittery metallic threads running through the fabric make it sparkle like a sapphire. Then I saw these skinny pants made from a lustrous velvet in a gorgeous garnet color. To my great pleasure, I tried them on and they were super comfortable, which is important because I plan to eat lots of Christmas cookies at these holiday parties. The blouse has a flowy look if left untucked, but to give the outfit a little more shape, I tucked it in at the front and let it hang loose at the back. I decked my ears with a dramatic pair of earrings dripping with festive Christmas stars, and slipped on a favorite pair of velvet heels that matched the pants perfectly (see the other colors and fabrics this shoe is still available in here, or check out this similar burgundy pair).
We are looking forward to the merry holiday party season ahead. We hope our outfit ideas will help you celebrate the season in style! Happy Holidays!
