Ohhh it’s reveal week of the One Room Challenge, and boy are we thrilled with the room transformation here at my brick nest! I took my dated, tired old guest bedroom and gave it a major modern refresh in just five weeks. I can’t wait to show you!!! If this is the first time you are checking in on The Brick Nests, please read our About page to learn more about us, and here we are with a little sneak peek into the guest bedroom reveal.
Shall we take a look back at our journey before the big reveal? In Week 1 we started out with before photos of the guest bedroom and came up with the room plan. In Week 2 we tackled walls and floors, and the mood of the room changed immediately with the old carpet and paisley wallpaper gone. The installation of that beautiful beaded ceiling lighting fixture made for an especially gorgeous Week 3. Wouldn’t you know that in Week 4 there was a furniture snafu, but I managed to rectify that mistake and continue on the One Room Challenge quest. Week 5 we pulled it all together with art and accessories galore.
Now just five weeks later, this dated spare room has a new fresh look! It’s cozy, colorful, and better than I had imagined. Before the big reveal, first let’s review the inspiration board we used to help create this amazing room transformation, as well as a couple before photographs to get you in the mood for change! Who doesn’t love a good before and after?!?!
Now onto the good stuff! Let me take you for a spin around this room reveal. First, let’s look at the major focal point of the room, the showstopping green chalk-painted dresser and all the fabulous accessories on top. Wow! I want to look at this all day! The beautiful, vibrant art and all the surrounding accessories are, well, just awesome, if I do say so myself.
Next up, one of the two cozy nooks, where the chair snafu took place (well, not really, as the chair didn’t actually make it up here! See Week 4 for more details). But I’m digging this beautiful rattan chair, even if it wasn’t in my original plan. A green and pink pillow combination brightens up this inviting little reading nook, and the little birdy perched on the window with the trees in the background adds a charming touch of whimsy!
Over to the nightstand situation. LOVE! The silver-beaded lamps really stand out against the dark wood of the nightstands, and the pink roses and accessories add lots of color…love love love!
Now to the beautiful bed. I think Lisa may have spiked my coffee, or maybe I’m just really that excited about this One Room Challenge reveal…but can you blame me??? Look at this bedding perfection! And below you will see Lisa too–she is jazzed about the pillow combination (it’s her thing). Well, before we lounge on this comfy bed all day, let’s keep moving on with the reveal!
Now looky here–this is a desk I would be happy to work at! I adore this little desk nook. I can just envision typing away at blog posts here all day, pausing now and then to gaze out the window at the gorgeous trees, with no interruptions in this quiet guest bedroom. Okay, time to wake up from my daydream, and move on.
The last stop on the trip around the guest bedroom is this small area behind the door, fully accessorized in pink and green, awaiting the first lucky guest to hang their hat here.
To think, this transformation all started with the idea of creating the green chalk-painted dresser, and now look at how far this room has come. I can’t believe it’s over! Here’s a huge coffee cheers from Lisa and me to Linda at Calling it Home for hosting this One Room Challenge. We hope you have enjoyed watching the makeover of my guest bedroom as much as I enjoyed doing it and blogging about it! And check out my source list below for more information on how to get this look. From our nests to yours, it’s a One Room Challenge wrap, and maybe time for a nap!
